Bandai's character-themed apparel and lifestyle branch, BANDAI FASHION COLLECTION (Bancolle!), is launching "Fantazzzy TOYS," a new sub-brand that fuses apparel and toys into a single experience. The inaugural release celebrates the classic kaiju film "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" with an original illustrated T-shirt and a sofubi figure, the "Fantazzzy TOYS Hedorah." Pre-orders opened on Premium Bandai on November 4th, with a scheduled release in January 2022!
Released in 1971, "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" was the 11th film in the Godzilla series. It introduced Hedorah, a mineral-based lifeform from space that, upon arriving on Earth, absorbed sludge, exhaust fumes, and other pollutants from the environment, mutating into the giant "Smog Monster."
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Godzilla vs. Hedorah," two special versions of the "Fantazzzy TOYS Hedorah Sofubi" are being released: a classic colorway and a pink variant. Standing at an impressive 170mm tall, this substantial, Japanese-made sofubi figure has a commanding presence and high collectible value! Capturing Hedorah's unique, sludgy body, the figure features an exquisite gradient paint application that brings out the characteristics of its Growth Form, complete with its massive, blood-red eyes. The pink version features a vibrant pink base accented with blue and green, creating a surprisingly cute aesthetic.
