BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible division is launching a new "Figuarts ZERO" fixed-pose figure line based on the popular anime "Jujutsu Kaisen." The first release will be protagonist "Figuarts ZERO Yuji Itadori," priced at 7,480 JPY and slated for release in March 2022.
Gege Akutami's manga series "Jujutsu Kaisen" (呪術廻戦), which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018, saw a massive surge in popularity after its anime adaptation debuted in October 2020. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student with exceptional athletic abilities. To fulfill his grandfather's dying wish to help others, Yuji accidentally swallows a finger belonging to Ryomen Sukuna, the "King of Curses" with four arms and two faces, during an attack by a Cursed Object. This act merges the Cursed Spirit Sukuna with his own body.
The "Figuarts ZERO Yuji Itadori" pre-painted figure stands approximately 190mm tall. It faithfully recreates Yuji in his Jujutsu High uniform, complete with the distinctive red hooded collar. The figure captures him mid-punch, unleashing a powerful "Black Flash." Yuji's signature spiky hair and facial features are meticulously detailed. Gradient-colored translucent effect parts create a dynamic and cool purple-black Cursed Energy spark, while smoke effects around his feet enhance the overall sense of action and immersion.
