The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, renowned for its ultimate Gunpla series, "PG (Perfect Grade)," which showcases the latest technological advancements in 1:60 scale, today announced its newest products from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC." The "PG 1/60 Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility" and the "PG 1/60 Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility Divine Expansion Set" are slated for release in January 2022.
The Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility traces its origins to the "Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Plan B," which first appeared in the arcade card game "Gundam TryAge." At the time, it was envisioned as an alternative plan for the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam, with "Plan B" also signifying "BLUE." Consequently, all of its beam weapons and Psycoframe were designed in a striking blue, and it was equipped with Armored Armors BS, VN, XC, and DE, derived from the Banshee and Banshee Norn. Later, with the release of the "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" Blu-ray BOX, and to align with the new settings for the "Phenex," the third unit from "Mobile Suit Gundam NT," the rear Armored Armor DE was further enhanced with a tail stabilizer wing design. It was then officially renamed the Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility, truly representing the culmination of the Unicorn series.
The "PG 1/60 Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility" is based on modified kits from previous Unicorn series releases. Its pristine white exterior armor can be adorned with newly designed Katoki Hajime decal markings. The distinctive Psycoframe is molded in clear blue light-gathering material, allowing it to recreate a powerful illuminated appearance when paired with a separately sold dedicated LED unit. For armaments, it features Armored Armors BS, VN, XC, and DE, each equipped with various deployment gimmicks. Furthermore, the "Armored Armor HJ (Hyper Beam Javelin)," which is set as the prototype for all Armored Armors, is produced with completely new parts and incorporates folding and transformation mechanisms.
Additionally, the "DIVINE Expansion Set" will be released simultaneously. This dedicated expansion part allows for the recreation of the Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility (DIVINE). Essentially, it reuses equipment from the "PG Full Armor Unicorn Gundam," including two Beam Gatling Guns, one Hyper Bazooka, one Grenade Launcher, one Beam Magnum, and two large thrusters. The connection parts for the rear large thrusters and the Armored Armor DE are newly molded.
