Japanese toy company Alphamax is set to release a new DH Alloy action figure of Grendizer, the iconic protagonist robot from Go Nagai's classic series "UFO Robo Grendizer", in January 2022.
"UFO Robo Grendizer" is the third installment in the Mazinger series, created by renowned manga artist Go Nagai, also the mastermind behind "Mazinger Z".
The story follows Prince Duke Fleed of Planet Fleed, who escapes to Earth after his home world is devastated by the invading Vegan Empire. Rescued by Dr. Umon, director of the Space Science Lab, Duke is adopted and assumes the identity of Daisuke Umon, hoping to live a peaceful life. However, when the Vegan forces extend their assault to Earth, Duke, spurred by Koji Kabuto, finally confronts his past trauma. He once again pilots his personal machine, Grendizer, joining forces with Koji and other allies to defend Earth, thus beginning their epic battle.

Alphamax's DH Alloy Grendizer boasts a commanding presence, standing at an impressive 28cm tall. Constructed primarily from die-cast metal, complemented by ABS and PVC, the figure features intricate armor paneling across its body. This design choice gives it a more pronounced metallic and mechanical aesthetic, reminiscent of the "Infinity" style seen in previous Bandai releases, diverging from the original anime's smoother look.
The figure offers excellent articulation, allowing collectors to recreate Grendizer's most dynamic poses from the series, including powerful punches, wielding its Double Harken, launching the Screw Crusher Punch, and iconic flight stances. A standout feature is the inclusion of a mini low-speed motor and LED lights, enabling illumination in the head and chest. The figure also faithfully recreates the spinning drill action in its hands. Accessories include effect parts for the "Space Thunder" attack and the Screw Crusher Punch, a Double Harken weapon, and a dedicated display stand. For added convenience, a Micro USB charging port is integrated into the rear waist section.
