ORCATOYS (オルカトイズ), a toy company renowned for its beautifully crafted bishojo figures, is now venturing into the world of classic Japanese boxing manga with the release of the "Makunouchi Ippo -fighting pose-" non-scale pre-painted figure. This release will feature both a Regular Version and a Damaged Version, priced at ¥36,080 each, with an anticipated release in March 2022.
Created by Japanese manga artist George Morikawa, the boxing series "Hajime no Ippo" (はじめの一歩) has been serialized since 1989, spanning over 30 years and accumulating more than 129 tankobon volumes. It is widely regarded as one of the flagship manga of "Weekly Shonen Magazine" during the Heisei era. The story centers on Makunouchi Ippo, a young boy who is constantly bullied, as he joins the Kamogawa Boxing Gym to learn boxing and strives to become a true champion through countless battles.
The "ORCATOYS Makunouchi Ippo -fighting pose-" non-scale pre-painted figure stands approximately 26 cm tall and was sculpted by Tsuyoshi Takahashi. Crafted from high-quality resin, the figure meticulously captures Ippo's dynamic fighting stance. His bare-chested musculature is dynamically sculpted, and his coiled posture, ready to unleash a powerful punch, combined with his intense, determined gaze, are perfectly recreated. Furthermore, intricate details such as his boxing gloves, the fabric texture of his shorts, and the design of his boxing shoes are all rendered with realistic paintwork, bringing the figure to vivid life.
