Bandai Spirits' Hobby Division, known for its extensive Gunpla lineup, the "HG (High Grade)" series, today unveiled a silhouette of a new "Gundam Frame Mobile Suit" set to appear in the side story "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urthr Hunt." The release date is currently unannounced.
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urthr Hunt" is featured within the mobile game "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G." It brings together the original TV anime production team to tell a brand-new story set in P.D. 323 on the Venusian colony "Radonitsa." Having failed in its colonization competition with Mars, Venus has become a disregarded frontier planet for the four major economic blocs. Its residents lack even identification numbers and it now serves as a penal colony for criminals.
Currently, only a silhouette of this "HG 1/144 Gundam Frame New Mobile Suit" has been revealed. However, the machine's outline strongly resembles the new mobile suit design drawn by animator Hiroshi Arisawa and unveiled by producer Masakazu Ogawa in January 2018. This long-awaited side story has certainly taken its time, but with Bandai Namco recently confirming "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G" for a Spring 2022 release, the origins of these mobile suits should soon be clarified.
