Hong Kong-based action figure brand Storm Collectibles, renowned for its releases based on SNK's iconic fighting game "The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match" (KOF98'UM), is set to unleash the boss character Orochi as part of its 1/12 scale action figure line! The figure is slated for a Q2 2022 release.
Orochi (オロチ) first appeared as the final boss in "The King of Fighters '97." Lore-wise, Orochi is a collective entity of will that requires a physical vessel to resurrect. In the KOF '97 storyline, Orochi was resurrected by possessing Chris of the Orochi Team. Beyond his impressive reach with both hands and feet, his attacks were incredibly powerful, making him a notoriously "cheap" character to fight. If players defeated Orochi with the Three Sacred Treasures Team (Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, and Chizuru Kagura), the ending depicted Orochi being sealed away once more by the sacred artifacts. Orochi later made an appearance in "The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match."
This Storm Collectibles Orochi figure maintains the brand's consistent quality at a 1/12 scale. Accessories include four sets of interchangeable hands, a "Thousand-Armed Kannon" effect part to recreate his iconic entrance, and an aura effect piece that doubles as a display stand, allowing collectors to pose him just as he appears in the game.
