Following the Calamity Gundam, BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has announced the latest addition to its "FULL MECHANICS" series, known for its high-density detailing and ease of assembly. The new "Aile Calamity Gundam," originating from the side story manga "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ECLIPSE," is slated for release in April 2022.
The newly designed Aile Calamity Gundam, with its mechanical design by Junichi Akutsu, is introduced in the story as a second-generation GAT series Mobile Suit developed by the Atlantic Federation. Based on the Calamity Gundam, it features a newly designed "Flight Module" mounted on its back, granting it exceptional mobility for aerial combat. It also comes equipped with the "Washi Composite Air Combat Weapon," which can transform into four different forms for flexible tactical deployment.
The "FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Aile Calamity Gundam" utilizes the main body from the previously released Calamity Gundam, but features powerful new parts for its Flight Module and Washi Composite Air Combat Weapon. The overall molding colors have also been updated to match the new design. True to the FULL MECHANICS style, the wing shapes are rendered with incredibly high-density details, reminiscent of a civilian aircraft.
The Flight Module's wing sections are equipped with movable "120mm 3-barrel Gatling Guns," "57mm 2-barrel Shoulder Cannons," and "20mm 4-barrel Multi-purpose Missile Pods." The main body's Washi Composite Air Combat Weapon boasts a multi-axis articulation system, perfectly recreating its complete transformation mechanism into four distinct forms: "War Hammer," "Rifle A," "Rifle B," and "Lance."
