Asmus Toys today unveiled its latest "The Lord of the Rings" release: the "Bilbo Baggins" 1/6 scale collectible figure! It's slated for a Q2 2022 release.
As Frodo Baggins' predecessor as the "Ring-bearer," a young Bilbo discovered the One Ring in a cave within the Misty Mountains during his adventure with the Dwarves, using its power to overcome numerous challenges – a tale recounted in "The Hobbit." In "The Lord of the Rings," on his 111th birthday, as he prepared to leave the Shire, Bilbo bequeathed all his possessions, including Bag End, to Frodo. With Gandalf's aid, he relinquished ownership of the Ring, passing it on to Frodo. This marked the first time in the history of Middle-earth that anyone had voluntarily given up the One Ring.
Standing approximately 20 cm tall, this figure boasts 22 points of articulation. It's meticulously designed based on Bilbo's appearance during his birthday speech in "The Fellowship of the Ring," faithfully recreating his iconic red vest, green tie, and magenta coat ensemble. Additionally, collectors can recreate his departure from the Shire with an included dark coat, backpack, and walking stick. His signature hairy feet are also accurately sculpted.
