Singapore-based statue brand XM Studios is following up its popular "Godzilla 2001 Bust" with the second entry in the series: the "Shin Godzilla Bust"! Pre-orders are now open on the official XM Studios website, priced at SGD $1,299.00, with an estimated release in Q4 2022.
The Godzilla design featured in the film "Shin Godzilla" (シン・ゴジラ) was conceived by sculptor Takayuki Takeya. This "gigantic perfect organism" is capable of rapid evolution and environmental adaptation, undergoing dramatic changes within hours of landing in Japan. It progresses through five distinct forms: the tadpole-like First Form, the Second Form (also known as Kamata-kun) which first appeared in Kamata, the Third Form that develops forelimbs after coming ashore, the complete Fourth Form possessing "thermonuclear energy conversion biological organs" that wreak havoc on cities, and the Fifth Form, where the tail tip continues to evolve even after being frozen.
The "XM Studios Shin Godzilla Bust" continues the bust series, conceptualized and interpreted by XM Studios with modeling design by Japanese sculptor Kenichi Tanaka. It meticulously recreates the terrifying head sculpt, small and sharp eyes, the eerie, bitter gourd-like skin texture across its entire body, and its gaping, blood-red maw. The exterior is finished in a glossy, asphalt-like black, while an ominous blood-red glows from within, evoking its constant emission of radioactive material.
The base features a simple, understated design, with only an embossed "Shin Godzilla" logo on the back. This ensures that attention remains focused on the intricate details of the bust itself, allowing collectors to fully appreciate the awe-inspiring presence of Shin Godzilla.
