BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has officially announced the latest entry in their highly detailed and articulated "MG (Master Grade)" Gunpla series, hailing from the "Mobile Suit Gundam 00" side story. The "MG 1/100 Gundam Astrea Type-F (Full Weapon Set)", alongside the "Gundam Astrea Type-F Avalanche Dash Equipment", is slated for an April 2022 release. This product is a Premium Bandai exclusive.
The GNY-001F Gundam Astrea Type-F makes appearances in official side stories such as "Mobile Suit Gundam 00F" and "00I", operated by "Fereshte", a support organization for Celestial Being. This unit is an upgraded version of the second-generation "Gundam Astrea", enhanced with third-generation technology 15 years later. Equipped with the same GN Drive as the 0 Gundam, its overall performance is significantly boosted. To conceal its "Gundam" identity for covert missions, the Type-F features a red color scheme and an added sensor mask on its head.
Meanwhile, the Fon Spaak's Custom Unit, which appeared in "Mobile Suit Gundam 00I", is a machine modified from a salvaged "Black Gundam Astrea" (a cloned mass-production unit). While it shares the red paint and mask with the original Gundam Astrea Type-F, it is equipped with a Pseudo GN Drive. The most distinctive feature of this unit is its ability to utilize a vast array of salvaged and plundered armaments, allowing it to form both "Heavy Weapon Mode" and "Avalanche Dash Type" configurations.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam Astrea Type-F (Full Weapon Set)" is based on the MG Gundam Exia kit, featuring newly molded parts to accurately recreate the distinct shapes of its head, collar, chest, shoulders, abdomen, front and rear skirts, wrists, and knee sides. The kit is molded in its signature red color, and even includes a set of optional parts to reproduce the "Gundam Astrea Type-F2".
This kit boasts an incredibly rich array of armament parts, including the Proto GN Sword, Proto GN Launcher, GN Hammer, GN Beam Rifle, GN Shield, NGN Bazooka, GN Beam Pistol, and GN Missile. Furthermore, it comes with over a dozen additional weapons, such as the GN Beam Saber, GN Beam Dagger, GN Sword, GN Long Blade, and GN Short Blade, identical to those used by Gundam Exia. With the hardpoint designs on the legs for weapon mounting, you can recreate the imposing Heavy Weapon Mode!
