Good Smile Company has officially announced the fifth installment in its innovative plastic model kit series, "Chitocerium." Following the releases of LXXVIII-platinum, VI-carbonia adamas, VI-carbonia lonsdaleite, and XCIX-albere & C-efer, the latest addition is the hauntingly beautiful "chitocerium XCII-urania"! The kit is scheduled for an August 2022 release with a suggested retail price of 6,800 JPY.
The "Chitocerium" series is a bishoujo plastic model kit line born from a collaboration between Good Smile Company, renowned illustrator huke, and the legendary sculptor Masaki Apsy—the mastermind behind the articulated bodies for the figma series, Frame Arms Girl, and Megami Device. While at first glance it might resemble the popular "mecha musume" (mecha girl) genre, its core design is fundamentally different, leaning heavily into a dark fantasy aesthetic.

According to the lore, "Chitocerium" is a fantastical realm inhabited by fairy-like beings known as "fragments." Born in Chitocerium, they serve as its guardians. Though they possess a humanoid appearance, they are not human, their eyes shimmering with a mysterious light. Only those authorized by them are deemed worthy of their ownership.
The fifth release, chitocerium XCII-urania, once again features the "fragment" base body designed by Masaki Apsy with character design by huke. She captures the image of an imprisoned twilight princess with her deathly pale skin and hauntingly purple eyes. The kit includes two face plates: a delicate standard expression and a crazed smiling one. Combined with interchangeable hand parts and accessories like a crown, a princess doll, a key, and a lantern, you can create a truly bizarre and grotesque atmosphere.

In addition to the signature hexagonal box engraved with beautiful patterns—which doubles as a storage case for Urania and her accessories—this release also includes a thorny cage to imprison the princess. The lantern can be hung inside the cage, and is designed to accommodate an LED unit to further immerse you in the series' unique world.
