TGA 2021: SIREN and Silent Hill Creator Keiichiro Toyama Unveils New Horror Game "Slitterhead," Set in Kowloon Walled City

A storm of mutations brews in Kowloon Walled City! Renowned game creator Keiichiro Toyama, known for classic titles such as "Silent Hill," "SIREN," and "Gravity Rush," unveiled his latest project at The Game Awards 2021. After departing SIE, Toyama founded Bokeh Game Studio, and they showcased the first gameplay footage for their new horror game currently in development, "Slitterhead."

Keiichiro Toyama's previous works, "Silent Hill" and "SIREN," are iconic horror masterpieces in gaming history. Both titles masterfully explore themes of 'otherworldly' dimensions and are unparalleled in their creation of terrifying atmospheres. Having even been adapted into films, both games remain beloved topics of discussion among players to this day.

The revealed gameplay trailer shows the game is set in the undemolished Kowloon Walled City. On the old, nighttime streets, a salaryman returning home witnesses a young woman transform into a grotesque monster. The street signs and Chinese advertisements are captivating, adding to the atmosphere. A mysterious man in black, wearing a helmet, appears to possess the ability to manipulate blood, transforming it into weapons to slay monsters. The final scene, where an old woman reverts from her monstrous state, sends shivers down the spine, building immense anticipation for the game's release.

Currently, "Slitterhead" has an official website, though the planned platforms and detailed release date have yet to be announced.
