The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, known for its diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla lineup, the "HG (High Grade)" series, today (16th) announced the latest product from the "Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS Urdr-Hunt" spin-off, the "HG 1/144 Gundam Asmodeus," slated for release in April 2022.
This release features a new mobile suit from the "Urdr-Hunt" spin-off, which is included in the "Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS G" mobile game. It is one of the 72 Gundam Frame units manufactured during the Calamity War. After the war, the machine was believed to have vanished in the conflict, but its silhouette was discovered in a hard-to-access Debris Zone. With no combat records, it's thought the war ended before it could be deployed, and its exterior remains in the same condition as when it was developed.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Asmodeus" kit is based on existing Gundam Frame parts, utilizing newly molded components for its exterior armor, weapons, and some frame sections. It features multi-color molded parts to faithfully reproduce the mobile suit's distinctive color scheme. Through part-swapping, builders can recreate the extending mechanism of its arm-mounted Grand Tonfas and the deployment of its Leg Claws. A metallic wire is included to depict the Gigant Javelin in its firing state.
