BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division has recently announced the latest addition to their "HG (High Grade)" model kit series, the "HG 1/72 Joehound," based on the original anime series "Kyoukai Senki." It is slated for release in April 2022.
Designed by Kanetake Ebikawa, the Joehound is depicted in the series as the previous-generation mainstay mass-production AMAIN developed by the North American Alliance Forces. Some units were captured and utilized by the rebel organization Yatagarasu. As a humanoid machine, it boasts excellent balance and high versatility, with a visually appealing design, though its mobility is considered average. Its successor, the next-generation mass-production unit Brady Hound, later incorporated large thrusters on its upper body, achieving significantly superior mobility.
The "HG 1/72 Joehound" meticulously recreates its sophisticated, tank-like exterior armor design. Its head features a precisely segmented rotating camera, allowing for the depiction of its visor closed in a parked state. The dedicated rifle is intricately detailed, with a detachable magazine and grenade launcher. Furthermore, the gauntlet parts on the weapon-holding hand can be transformed into a knuckle mode via a sliding mechanism.
