Japanese figure manufacturer Sentinel today announced the latest addition to their popular die-cast action figure series, "RIOBOT," with the "RIOBOT Transforming R-GUN Powered" from "Super Robot Wars OG," slated for release in October 2022.
The RW-1 R-GUN Powered is a form of the R-GUN developed as part of the SRX Project, specifically as Unit 1, the "SRX's dedicated weapon." This version features the addition of the "High-Performance Twin Barrel Cannon" to the R-GUN's back. Designed as a pilotable small Personal Trooper (PT) for ease of transport, it boasts higher-level sensors and engines compared to other R-series units, giving it combat capabilities on par with its counterparts. It can also activate its Heavy Metal Annihilation Cannon mode, transforming into the "Hyper Tronium Buster Cannon" to perform the combined attack, "Tenjo Tenge Ichigatsu Hissatsu Hou," with the SRX!
In its PT form, the "RIOBOT Transforming R-GUN Powered" stands approximately 155 mm tall. Its head camera is painted with a special pigment that glows under blacklight. The entire body features highly articulated joints, and the base of the "High-Performance Twin Barrel Cannon" on its back is also articulated, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses.
Furthermore, the "High-Performance Twin Barrel Cannon" can be detached and replaced with the original R-GUN configuration, allowing it to be displayed with weapons such as the "Twin Revolver Rifle" and "Slash Boomerang."
Regarding the transformation mechanism, both the "R-GUN" and "R-GUN Powered" can recreate the impressive "Hyper Tronium Buster Cannon" form. The "R-GUN Powered" version extends to an impressive 40 cm in length, and the muzzle can be fitted with RIOBOT original parts for a more natural appearance.
When equipped by the separately sold "RIOBOT Transforming SRX," it forms an even larger silhouette. With the included dedicated display stand, you can recreate the powerful pose of SRX single-handedly wielding the R-GUN Powered and unleashing its combined special attack, the "Tenjo Tenge Ichigatsu Hissatsu Hou"!
