TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectibles division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, is set to release a new static figure from its "Figuarts ZERO" line! Following the initial release of protagonist Yuji Itadori from the popular anime "Jujutsu Kaisen," the latest product, "Figuarts ZERO Sukuna," will soon make its debut. This impressive figure will retail for 8,250 JPY and is scheduled for release in May 2022.
Ryomen Sukuna is a legendary figure described in the "Nihon Shoki" (The Chronicles of Japan) as a superhuman with two faces and four arms who appeared in the Hida region. In modern-day Gifu Prefecture, he is even revered as an incarnation of the Bodhisattva Kannon, with temples dedicated to his statues. In the world of "Jujutsu Kaisen," Sukuna is established as the King of Curses, a Special Grade Cursed Object. His overwhelming power led to his twenty fingers being severed and sealed across Japan after his death. Even after a millennium, his mummified remains still possess immense cursed energy. Cruel by nature and fond of slaughter, Sukuna now resides within Yuji Itadori after the protagonist swallowed one of his fingers.
Standing approximately 13 cm (5.1 inches) tall, the "Figuarts ZERO Sukuna" figure captures the King of Curses in his dominant, cross-legged pose, seated upon a throne of bones as he unleashes his "Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine"! The figure faithfully recreates Sukuna's appearance while possessing Yuji Itadori, featuring his signature spiky hair, the distinct markings on his face, and his four open eyes. It comes with two interchangeable face parts—a confident smirk and an irritated, angry expression—along with various hand gestures to convey Sukuna's volatile personality. The base, adorned with sinister, horned demon skulls, perfectly encapsulates the grand presence of the King of Curses!
