Japan's Medicos Entertainment is set to release a new "Robert E. O. Speedwagon" action figure as part of their highly popular "Super Action Statue" series, based on "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood"! The figure is priced at 8,800 JPY and is slated for an August 2022 release.
Speedwagon, a pivotal character who first appeared in "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1" and whose influence extends through the first two parts, initially debuted as a gang leader operating in London's Ogre Street. After clashing with Jonathan Joestar, he was deeply moved by Jojo's gentlemanly spirit, becoming his trusted right-hand man and closest friend—and, notably, his professional commentator. Following Jojo's death, Speedwagon discovered oil fields in the American West, transforming into an oil magnate whose wealth impacted the global economy. He established the Speedwagon Foundation (SPW Foundation), which has since provided extensive support to the Joestar descendants.
The "Super Action Statue Robert E. O. Speedwagon" action figure stands approximately 17 cm tall. Its sculpt faithfully recreates his signature gentleman's suit coat, purple waistcoat, and iconic bowler hat. The intricate details of his facial scar and long blonde hair are also meticulously rendered. The figure comes with four interchangeable head sculpts: a standard face and a yelling face (both with hat), and a standard face and a yelling face (both without hat). For accessories, Speedwagon includes a pistol and his (almost never-used) special attack spinning blade hat! The hat, combined with effect parts, allows collectors to recreate his memorable debut battle scene with Jojo.
