MegaHouse, a Japanese toy company known for its popular "VARIABLE ACTION HEROES" series which captures character charm with exquisite sculpting techniques, has finally unveiled its latest product from the hit anime and manga series "ONE PIECE" after a long hiatus: the VARIABLE ACTION HEROES ONE PIECE Luffy-taro action figure! Priced at 9,680 JPY, it was scheduled for release in late July 2022.
As the "ONE PIECE" story entered the Wano Country Arc, Wano Country's culture, clothing, and names adopted many traditional Japanese styles. Protagonist Monkey D. Luffy disguised himself as "Luffy-taro" to evade enemies, and even wielded the Great Grade sword "Nidai Kitetsu," forged by Tenguyama Hitetsu's ancestor, Kotetsu.
The VARIABLE ACTION HEROES ONE PIECE Luffy-taro action figure stands approximately 175mm tall and faithfully captures his Japanese-inspired attire from the series. His topknot, partially exposed kimono, iconic straw hat, and the formidable "Nidai Kitetsu" sword are all perfectly recreated, exuding his cool and powerful presence! Featuring highly articulated joints, collectors can pose him in a wide array of dynamic stances.
In addition to his signature smile, the figure includes three other interchangeable face plates: an angry gritting teeth expression, a hearty laugh, and one with a bamboo skewer in his mouth, totaling four expressions. A variety of interchangeable hand parts are also included, along with the Nidai Kitetsu, allowing for impressive sword-wielding poses! Pre-orders were scheduled to open on January 7th, with more complete product information released concurrently.
