BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, known for its diverse lineup of 1/144 scale Gunpla, today announced the latest addition to the 'HG (High Grade)' series: the HG 1/144 Lord Astray Ω from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY Princess of the Sky," slated for release in April 2022.
The MHF-01Ω Lord Astray Ω is a mobile suit modified from the original Lord Astray Gundam, utilizing "Rare Metal Ω." It features additional armor parts crafted from Rare Metal Ω and is equipped with the versatile "Odo Greatsword," which can separate into two sabers and a whip sword. The original plan was to use all available Rare Metal Ω to achieve an invincible state, but a portion was diverted to improve the Astray Gold Frame Amaterasu, preventing the full realization of this goal.
The HG 1/144 Lord Astray Ω faithfully recreates its distinctive head, chest, and limb designs using new parts and a rich array of molded colors. Details like the massive sword rack on its backpack and the thrusters on its rear skirt are meticulously rendered. The kit also includes water-slide decals featuring various machine markings. Its signature main weapon, the "Odo Greatsword," boasts an impressive size and accurately replicates its transformation mechanism, allowing it to split into two sabers and a whip sword.
