From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division, the "S.H.MonsterArts" series, which combines the advanced articulation technology cultivated over years with the S.H.Figuarts line and exquisite kaiju sculpting, is set to release a new figure based on the anime "Godzilla Singular Point." Following the releases of "Godzilla Ultima" and "Jet Jaguar," fans can now look forward to the "S.H.MonsterArts Rodan (2021) -Second Form-"! This highly anticipated figure will have a reference price of 9,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in June 2022.
Directed by Atsushi Takahashi and co-produced by BONES and Orange, the completely new anime series "Godzilla Singular Point" breaks away from the traditional frameworks of Japanese kaiju films. It features a complex worldview, rich scientific theories, and abundant sci-fi elements as its backdrop. Through the gradual unraveling of mysteries by human protagonists Mei Kamino, a brilliant science prodigy, and Yun Arikawa, an AI researcher, the series subtly portrays the enigmatic nature and allure of its kaiju.
The first kaiju to appear in the series is Rodan (2021), a Quetzalcoatlus-type monster with Pteranodon-like characteristics and exposed nerve spines on its back. It manifests in three distinct forms: a suspected aquatic First Form, a Second Form fully adapted to terrestrial life, and a Final Form significantly larger than its predecessors.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Rodan (2021) -Second Form-" has been meticulously supervised by kaiju designer Eiji Yamamori, ensuring a faithful recreation of its on-screen appearance. This includes its dark red body, the multi-layered teeth within its sharp beak, and the intricate spines on its chest and abdomen. The wings are also designed to be foldable. Furthermore, the figure comes with eight unpainted mini-Rodan figures, along with a dedicated display base and stand, allowing collectors to recreate the iconic Rodan swarm scenes!
