Japanese toy company Kotobukiya, in collaboration with renowned illustrator Shunya Yamashita, has officially announced a new addition to their "Bishoujo" figure brand: the "SNK Bishoujo Shiranui Mai" 1/7 scale PVC pre-painted finished figure, based on her appearance in "The King of Fighters '98"! This highly anticipated collectible is scheduled for an August 2022 release.
Shiranui Mai is a popular female ninja and fighter who has appeared in numerous SNK video game series, including "Fatal Fury" and "The King of Fighters." Known for her enviable physique, particularly her impressive bust, Mai attacks using her signature Shiranui-ryū Ninjutsu and a large fan, all while clad in her iconic, highly revealing red and white yukata.
Standing approximately 21 cm tall, this figure delicately recreates Shiranui Mai's bold, signature outfit. The voluptuous bust and rounded hip lines exude explosive feminine charm. The realistic sculpting of her costume's wrinkles and flowing long hair, combined with her low-center-of-gravity, pigeon-toed stance, adds a dynamic sense of movement. No matter how you view the figure, from any angle, it's undeniably ultra-sultry! However, the head sculpt, in my personal opinion, differs quite a bit from Shunya Yamashita's original artwork, lacking some of the youthful innocence and instead featuring a more alluring expression.
