Japanese model kit manufacturer Kotobukiya today announced a brand-new product line designed for artists and aspiring artists, the "ARTIST SUPPORT ITEM" series. The first release in this innovative line, the "Hand Model (Provisional)," is slated to launch within 2022.
The "ARTIST SUPPORT ITEM Hand Model (Provisional)" is a collaborative effort between animator Takahiro Kagami and Kotobukiya's in-house sculptor Hajime Shirahige. This highly anticipated model features precise segmentation not only in each of the five fingers but also throughout the palm, allowing for a range of motion that closely mimics a human hand. This level of articulation surpasses many existing hand models on the market, making it an incredibly useful reference tool for drawing, sculpting, and design work.
Currently, only an unpainted prototype has been revealed. Further details regarding the model's size, pricing, and exact release date will be announced at a later time.
