BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has officially announced the latest addition to their HG (High Grade) plastic model kit series: the "HG Cybaster [EXTRA FINISH]" from "Super Robot Wars OG," slated for release in April 2022. This highly anticipated kit will be exclusively available through Premium Bandai, the official Bandai online store.
A fan-favorite original mecha from the "Super Robot Wars" series, the "Cybaster" is an Elemental Lord that forged a contract with the Wind Spirit. Piloted by Masaki Andoh (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa), the Cybaster boasts exceptional performance, particularly in its outstanding mobility. It can also transform into its high-speed flight mode, "Cybird." Its primary armament is the physical sword, the "Disc Cutter," which allows it to unleash powerful sword techniques like the "Ranbu no Tachi" by fully leveraging its superior maneuverability.
The "HG Cybaster [EXTRA FINISH]" builds upon the previously released standard kit, faithfully recreating the mecha's intricate details and striking silhouette with precision-molded parts. The kit features a highly articulated joint design throughout its body, and can transform into its "Cybird" flight mode through part-swapping.
This special version elevates the original gray-blue exterior armor parts with a unique [EXTRA FINISH] treatment, giving them a gorgeous silver metallic sheen. The purple, red, and yellow parts have also been molded with a metallic finish. In addition to the attack units controlled by Cybaster's feline familiars, Shiro and Kuro, and the Disc Cutter, this kit also includes a brand-new, electroplated weapon: the "Zankuu Houkuto." This new blade can even combine with the Disc Cutter, allowing collectors to recreate both its combined and separated forms!
