To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the classic anime series "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers," Japanese toy company Sentinel is releasing the fourth entry in their "Chou-Dan-Kadou" line: the legendary armor "Kou Tei Rekka" from the original series! This highly anticipated figure is slated for an October 2022 release.
"Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" (鎧伝サムライトルーパー) is an anime produced by the renowned Sunrise studio, which first aired in 1988 and ran for 39 episodes. The series is best known for its five protagonists, each donning unique, samurai-like battle armors called "Yoroi Gear" (よろいギア). Each armor grants distinct abilities and titles, as the heroes battle against the Evil Dynasty led by the formidable "Arago."

It's worth noting that the protagonist and armor designs in "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" bear a resemblance to "Saint Seiya." This project was notably influenced by the success of "Saint Seiya" in 1986, capitalizing on the popular theme of characters donning armor for battle, a genre in which "Samurai Troopers" later became a classic representative.
In the original story, "Kou Tei Rekka" is the legendary Yoroi Gear formed by combining the power of all five armors. It is donned by Ryo Sanada, also known as "Ryo of the Wildfire," and features a striking white appearance. Its primary weapons are the Rekka Ken and Gouretsu Ken. Sentinel's fourth Chou-Dan-Kadou release, "Kou Tei Rekka," stands approximately 16.5 cm tall and includes a special display stand that allows the armor to be showcased independently. The figure comes with four interchangeable face plates, and some weapon accessories utilize magnets for enhanced playability. With excellent articulation, collectors can recreate various iconic poses from the series, including the powerful special move "Chou-Dan-Dou Senkou Zan." Furthermore, the head and weapons are interchangeable with the first Chou-Dan-Kadou figure, "Ryo of the Wildfire," offering even more display options.
