Following the broadcast of the hugely popular "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc," numerous figures and merchandise featuring the central character, Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, have been announced. Now, BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan is set to release the latest item in their "PROPLICA" series – known for bringing fictional props to life with cutting-edge technology – the "Nichirin Swords (Tengen Uzui)," scheduled for an October 2022 release.
The PROPLICA Nichirin Sword series features 1:1 scale reproductions, meticulously crafted with intricate sculpting, paintwork, and a combination of materials. These replicas faithfully recreate the decorative details and textures of the Nichirin Swords from the series, including the stitching, pommel, tsuba (handguard), blade patterns, and the "Destroyer of Demons" inscription. They also include a built-in sound playback function, allowing users to activate famous lines, background music, and the sounds of Total Concentration Breathing from the anime with the press of a button.
The "PROPLICA Nichirin Swords (Tengen Uzui)" are constructed with ABS plastic for the blade bodies and chains, along with some die-cast metal parts. Each individual sword measures an impressive 110 cm (approximately 43.3 inches) in length, perfectly replicating the distinctive orange-yellow blades, circular cutouts, and the "Destroyer of Demons" inscription. The chains connecting the hilts to the dual blades also boast a superb metallic texture, giving them a substantial feel in hand compared to previous Nichirin Sword releases.
For background music, the swords include "Zankyosanka -TV ver.-," the opening theme song from "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc" performed by Aimer. The voice features two modes: "Demon Slayer Mode" and "Let's Go Flashy Mode." Each mode can activate different "Sound Breathing" techniques, playing various famous lines from Tengen Uzui, Sound Breathing sound effects, and sword-clashing sounds!
