Kotobukiya's "ARTFX J" series, renowned for its exquisite three-dimensional renditions of Japanese anime and game characters, is expanding its "Pokémon" lineup. Following several successful releases, the company has now unveiled the "ARTFX J Lucas with Chimchar" 1/8 scale figure, inspired by "Pokémon Diamond and Pearl." This new collectible is priced at 12,980 JPY and is slated for a July 2022 release.
Lucas (コウキ), the male protagonist who appears in "Pokémon Diamond and Pearl" and its remakes, "Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl," is the counterpart to Dawn and a childhood friend of Barry. He resides in Twinleaf Town within the Sinnoh region with his mother, Johanna, a celebrated Pokémon Coordinator. Deeply influenced by his mother, Lucas aspires to become a Pokémon Coordinator himself. If players choose Dawn as their protagonist in the games, Lucas takes on the role of Professor Rowan's assistant, offering timely support.
The "ARTFX J Lucas with Chimchar" 1/8 scale figure stands approximately 202mm tall. Based on an illustration by Hitoshi Ariga (ありがひとし), the esteemed illustrator for the "Pokémon" series, this figure vividly captures Lucas's confident expression and Chimchar's energetic pose. His flowing red scarf adds a dynamic sense of movement, while his backpack and outfit are meticulously sculpted and painted to faithfully reproduce Lucas's distinctive features. Chimchar, perched on a rock, features a clear material effect for its fiery tail, and the duo's shared gaze into the distance amplifies their adorable charm!
