Sentinel RIOBOT Brave Raideen Die-Cast Action Figure Unleashes New Gimmicks, Arriving August 2022!

Japanese toy manufacturer Sentinel recently announced the latest addition to its popular die-cast action figure line, "RIOBOT," with "Brave Raideen" slated for an August 2022 release.

Raideen is the colossal robot piloted by protagonist Akira Hibiki in the 1975 anime "Brave Raideen." Constructed 12,000 years ago by the ancient Mu Empire, it stands as the sole weapon capable of combating the invading Demon Empire. Normally stored within the Sphinx in its golden, dormant state, Raideen is activated by Akira's powerful psychic abilities. It boasts a diverse arsenal, including a bow, sword, and boomerang, and possesses the ability to transform into its formidable avian flight mode, "God Bird."

The "RIOBOT Brave Raideen" features a reimagined design by manga artist Eiichi Shimizu. This updated aesthetic masterfully blends the original series' slender, streamlined silhouette with contemporary sharp angles and intricate armor separation. Crafted from ABS and die-cast parts, the figure faithfully reproduces its complex details and comes packed with an array of weapons, including the God Gorgon, God Arrow, and God Breaker.

A standout feature is the entirely new, original design of the wing parts. Composed of multiple articulated segments, the wings boast an impressive expansion gimmick. Thanks to movable support arms, the wings can also be positioned in front of the main body, perfectly recreating its transformation into the "God Bird" flight form. Furthermore, the head can be swapped with a drill attachment to unleash the sealed, enhanced weapon, the "God Bird Headcutter."
