To celebrate the upcoming 15th anniversary of "BLACK★ROCK SHOOTER," Japanese toy company FREEing is adding a new release to its B-Style lineup of large-scale female character figures: the "BLACK★ROCK SHOOTER Bunny Ver."! This 1/4 scale figure is slated for release in October 2022 with a suggested retail price of 35,200 yen.
"BLACK★ROCK SHOOTER" originated as a single illustration by Japanese artist huke, depicting a pale-skinned, black-haired girl in black attire. Her left eye glows with a blue flame, and she wields a massive black cannon capable of firing 20 rounds per second. Ryo, the composer for the doujin music group supercell, was captivated by the artwork and created a song of the same name using the Vocaloid software "Hatsune Miku." The song and its music video gained immense popularity, leading to adaptations into anime, manga, and video games.
The "BLACK★ROCK SHOOTER Bunny Ver." stands at an impressive 47cm (approx. 18.5 inches) tall in 1/4 scale. The design combines B★RS's characteristically slender and pale physique with a classic bunny girl outfit. The figure features a sexy, black, backless bunny suit complete with a cute tail, while her dynamic black twintails add volume to her otherwise delicate frame. Her long, slender legs are clad in the B-Style series' signature real fabric fishnet stockings, creating a charm distinct from her usual combat look. The blue flame over her eye is also removable, allowing for a display of her standard expression.
