The classic snowmen are back and better than ever! For many, "SNOW BROS." is a cherished arcade memory from childhood, and now it's joining the wave of game remakes and re-releases. Korean company DAEWON MEDIA's game division has announced the upcoming release of "SNOW BROS. SPECIAL," a remake of the popular arcade classic. It's slated to launch first on the Nintendo Switch!

Originally released in 1990 by TOAPLAN, "SNOW BROS." is a single-screen action game reminiscent of TAITO's iconic "Bubble Bobble." Players control snowmen, transforming enemies into snowballs and rolling them to clear stages. You can freely navigate various terrains, collect power-ups, and face a boss every 10 stages, for a total of 50 levels.
The original game garnered a large fanbase due to its easy-to-learn mechanics, moderate difficulty, and two-player co-op. This remake, arriving over 30 years later, features significantly enhanced graphics, a more detailed story with an animated feel, and faithfully preserves the original gameplay experience. It also adds 30 new stages, along with new enemy and boss characters. Naturally, the beloved two-player co-op mode is also retained.

Additionally, the game introduces a "Monster Challenge" mode, allowing players to control various enemy characters from the game. With diverse actions for each enemy, this mode offers a unique and fresh gameplay experience.

While a detailed release date and price have yet to be announced, it's confirmed that "SNOW BROS. SPECIAL" will be available as both physical and digital editions on the Nintendo Switch. A limited Collector's Edition will also be released, packed with extras like plush dolls of the two protagonists, Nick and Tom, an illustration book, stickers, and the game's original soundtrack. This comprehensive package is perfect for fans looking to revisit this fantastic two-player action game!
