Bandai Candy, the Shokugan (candy toy) division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has officially announced the second installment of its popular "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA" series, "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA02," slated for release in June 2022.
The newly evolved "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA" series builds upon its predecessor's detailed sculpting, which combined a movable frame with armor parts. The addition of "FA" (representing Full Armor) to the product name signifies significant improvements, including redesigned arms and rear thigh sections that are now fully covered by armor, and the removal of the armor connection structure behind the knees, resulting in a silhouette that more closely matches the original designs. The chest armor is also less prone to detachment, and the waist joint is easier to reassemble after separation. However, due to rising production costs, the limb frame parts will now come as snap-fit runners that can be directly removed by hand.
This second wave features four highly popular mobile suits: the Justice Gundam, piloted by Athrun Zala from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED"; the high-performance mass-production unit Rick Dias, utilized by the AEUG in "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam"; the distinctive red Rick Dias (Quattro Bajeena Color), piloted by Quattro Bajeena (also known as Char Aznable); and the iconic Sazabi, Char Aznable's personal mobile suit from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack". Each complete mobile suit can be assembled by collecting both its Armor Set and Frame Set.
