Following their successful "Universal Monsters x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" crossover series, American toy brand NECA has once again delighted fans with a new TMNT announcement. Early this morning (23rd), NECA officially revealed the new "Last Ronin" action figure, based on the character from IDW's acclaimed comic series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin"! This highly anticipated figure is slated for an August 2022 release.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" is a critically acclaimed 5-issue miniseries published by IDW, co-created by TMNT originators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, alongside Tom Waltz and Andy Kuhn. The story plunges into a grim future where New York City is brutally controlled by Oroku Hiroto, Shredder's grandson. Of the four Ninja Turtle brothers, only one remains, clad in a dark, battle-worn suit and wielding the signature weapons of his fallen siblings, embarking on a solitary quest for vengeance against Hiroto.
This 7-inch scale figure meticulously recreates the Last Ronin's iconic comic book appearance, featuring a primary color palette of deep blue, dark brown, and gray. The battle-damaged sculpt on his forearms and shin guards vividly conveys his extensive combat experience. The figure comes with two distinct head sculpts – one with gritted teeth and another roaring in defiance – which can be combined with the removable hood for varied display options. A comprehensive array of accessories is included: goggles, a grappling hook, sai, a katana, nunchaku, a bo staff, shuriken, a smoke bomb, and multiple interchangeable hands. The sai can be holstered on his belt, while the katana and bo staff can be securely attached to his back, allowing for a wide range of dynamic battle poses!
