GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted figure series, "POP UP PARADE," announced today that its latest product, "Holo," from the popular light novel series "Spice and Wolf," is slated for release in July 2022, commemorating the series' 15th anniversary.
"Spice and Wolf" (狼と辛香料) is a light novel series created by Isuna Hasekura. Blending economics, trade, and fantasy, the story is set in a medieval European-inspired world, chronicling the journey of merchant protagonist Lawrence and the wise wolf goddess Holo, the deity of harvest. Together, they navigate various events, utilizing experience, wisdom, and even luck to transform risks into wealth. After two anime adaptations in 2008-2009, a brand-new anime project was finally announced in 2022.
The "POP UP PARADE Holo" figure is based on the cover illustration for the first novel volume, drawn by artist Jyuu Ayakura. Standing at an easy-to-collect size of approximately 17-18cm, the figure perfectly captures Holo's gentle yet mischievous expression, her proud bushy tail, and her distinctive ethnic attire. She holds a stalk of wheat, symbolizing her nature as the deity of harvest, said to reside within the grain.
