Diving into sub-space! Hong Kong-based toy brand POSE+ is set to release the protagonist mecha, Baldios, from the classic robot anime "Space Warrior Baldios" (宇宙戦士バルディオス) as part of its METAL SERIES articulated die-cast robot line. The figure is slated for a January 2023 release.
The robot anime "Space Warrior Baldios" was a co-production between Japan's Ashi Production and Kokusai Eiga-sha, first airing on TV Tokyo in 1980. The series was initially canceled mid-run, leaving its final conclusion untold. However, the story was later re-edited, and the remaining plot points were fully resolved in a theatrical film released in 1981.

The story centers on protagonist Marin, originally from Planet S-1. After his father is murdered and he is framed for the crime, Marin pilots the Pulser Burn (パルサバーン) fighter, pursuing his enemies through a sub-space jump to Earth in the year 2100. Moved by Earth's beauty, he decides to fight against the invading S-1 aliens. His modified fighter can then combine with the Baldy Prize (バルディ・プライズ) and Cateranger (キャタレンジャー) — piloted by his teammates Oliver and Raita, respectively — to form the colossal robot Baldios.

In the original series, Space Warrior Baldios is formed by the combination of three distinct machines: the Pulser Burn (パルサバーン), the Baldy Prize (バルディ・プライズ), and the Cateranger (キャタレンジャー). This POSE+ METAL SERIES Baldios figure faithfully recreates this iconic transformation. Standing approximately 27 cm tall, the figure can separate into its three individual fighter modes and then combine into the mighty Baldios. It comes packed with a wealth of weapon accessories, including the Baldios Sword, shoulder cannons, a chain mace, and the "Renzan" (連環斬) attack which can be configured into a dual-wielding stance or a long spear form. A dedicated display stand is also included, allowing collectors to showcase all three fighter jets simultaneously in a dynamic presentation.
