Good Smile Company, renowned for its Nendoroid series of over a thousand articulated figures, is once again diving into the world of "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters" with the announcement of the Nendoroid Yami Bakura. Following popular releases like Yami Yugi and Dark Magician Girl, this new figure is priced at 6,200 JPY and is slated for a September 2022 release.
Yami Bakura (闇バクラ) is the malevolent personality that emerges after Ryo Bakura's body is possessed by the evil consciousness lurking within the Millennium Ring. Unlike the protagonist Yami Yugi, the host (Ryo Bakura) retains no memories of the period when the alternate personality is active. His true identity is a fragment of the souls of Thief King Bakura and the Great Priest of Darkness, residing within the Millennium Ring and awaiting an opportunity for revenge against the ancient Egyptian royalty who annihilated his village overnight.
The Nendoroid Yami Bakura stands approximately 10 cm tall. The chibi Nendoroid design perfectly captures Yami Bakura's maniacal expressions and sinister smile. It includes three interchangeable face plates: a "Smiling Face," a "Provoking Face," and a "Tongue-Out Face." Accessories essential for any duelist are also included: Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, a Duel Disk that attaches to his arm, and intricately detailed miniature versions of the Millennium Ring and Millennium Eye. These allow fans to recreate many memorable scenes from the series!
