Taiwanese toy brand J.T Studio, renowned for its distinctive style and fusion of characters with streetwear elements, has joined forces with Taiwanese designer brand Momoco Studio (毛毛二), celebrated for its shark-themed sofubi figures. Together, they've launched the new "Shark Boy" action figure as part of the "8"2GO" series, blending both studios' signature design aesthetics! Pre-orders opened on December 17th, with an estimated shipping date of December 2022.
The new member of the Shark Boy family, "Speed Star - Shark Boy," makes its debut!
Standing approximately 22 cm (8.6 inches) tall, the "Shark Boy" figure faithfully recreates Momoco Studio's anthropomorphic reinterpretation of a mako shark. The design exudes a strong, rebellious teenage vibe, with posable head and hands allowing for plenty of edgy, "chuunibyou"-esque poses. J.T Studio's signature eye-catching style is evident in the clothing and accessories, featuring exaggerated shoe designs and vibrant color schemes. A particularly adorable detail is "Sanma-kun" (the Pacific saury character) peeking out from the hoodie's chest! In addition to the main Shark Boy figure, the set includes a fluorescent green Sanma-kun sofubi, a skateboard, a regular backpack, and a shark-themed backpack.
Alongside the standard colorway, a fierce "Rage Black" version of "Shark Boy" is also available, exclusively as part of a two-figure set. This variant features distinct changes, including a different facial expression, altered clothing and backpack designs, and even a unique Sanma-kun sofubi. The detail of blood dripping from its mouth is an incredibly cool touch!
