Bandai Candy, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., recently announced the upcoming release of "ANIMAGEAR DE 04" in July 2022. This latest entry in the enhanced "ANIMAGEAR DE" series builds upon the original "ANIMAGEAR" line's signature features of assembly, articulated frames, and customizable armor.
The evolved "ANIMAGEAR DE (DOUBLE EDGE)" series features tool-free runner parts that can be easily detached by hand, making assembly, play, and customization more convenient for collectors. This iteration also introduces additional armor attachment points, humanoid head parts, and the brand-new "TWIN CROSS UP" two-unit combination system, allowing for even greater freedom in modification, swapping parts, and creating unique new forms!
The latest fourth wave centers around the theme of even more powerful "Emperor ANIMAGEAR," introducing five new Emperor units:
・ODIN RAGNAGEAS
Based on the initial unit from the Emperor Machine Project and enhanced with the latest technology, Odin Ragnageas is an Odin-type Emperor unit. It features the signature combination mechanism of third-generation ANIMAGEAR, allowing it to combine with any other ANIMAGEAR. It also boasts the unique "Valhalla System," which, when activated, can forcibly control all Emperor units. This, combined with its instant armor-swapping capabilities through its combination mechanism, allows it to adapt to various combat situations, earning it the title of "God of War."
・BUNCLE BEGEAS
Developed with the legendary lucky creature, the Carbuncle, as its motif, Buncle Begeas is an Emperor unit capable of transforming between humanoid and beast forms. Despite its friendly nature, it is extremely timid. It's equipped with an optical camouflage function that allows it to completely blend into its surroundings, only revealing itself to those it accepts. It skillfully utilizes this ability for stealth, reconnaissance, and other covert missions.
・KRAKEN GIGAGEAS
This Nordic sea monster-type Emperor unit, featuring massive tentacles, is known as the "Ocean Emperor" alongside the concurrently developed Levia Kaigeas. A key difference between the two is that Kraken Gigageas is the first unit to adopt an amphibious design. Upon surfacing, it can transform into a sub-humanoid form for standing or high-speed gliding. Its colossal tentacles can unleash powerful whip attacks and also absorb energy from opponents through their tips.
・DEMON R-GEAS
A demon god-type Emperor unit designed simultaneously with its counterpart, Demon L-Geas, and deployed together. This unit is engineered for pure offense, delivering maximum attack power within the limits of its frame. Its communication functions are almost entirely disabled, allowing it to only receive commands from Demon L-Geas during combat.
・DEMON L-GEAS
Another demon god-type Emperor unit, designed and deployed concurrently with its twin, Demon R-Geas. This unit prioritizes pure speed, enabling it to move at high velocity across the battlefield to drive back enemies. It also serves as the command unit for the pair, calmly assessing battle situations and issuing optimal combat directives to Demon R-Geas.
Furthermore, the aforementioned Demon R-Geas and Demon L-Geas units feature the "TWIN CROSS UP" combination mechanism. This allows them to merge into the asymmetrical Emperor unit, "DEMON DEATHGEAS." This combined form effectively compensates for their individual weaknesses and, unlike Unicorn Lightgeas, is not prone to berserking, allowing the two units to unleash their true, formidable power!
