Japanese manufacturer Sentinel has officially unveiled its latest creation from the iconic, high-octane anime series "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann": the "RIOBOT Transforming & Combining Gurren Lagann"! This highly anticipated figure is slated for a December 2022 release.
The "RIOBOT Transforming & Combining Gurren Lagann" is the definitive edition of the Gunmen, featuring a full transformation and combination gimmick along with a massive arsenal of optional parts. The set primarily includes the two core mechs, Gurren and Lagann, and even comes with in-scale, pilotable figures of Simon and Kamina.
The Gurren unit features a stunning paint application, perfectly recreating the iconic shoulder markings. Just like in the anime, the massive sunglasses on its chest can be detached and wielded as a weapon. The chest-face is articulated for subtle expression changes, and the hands boast fully articulated fingers, allowing you to replicate Kamina's signature pose, pointing defiantly toward the heavens!
The diminutive Lagann stands at a mere 2.3 cm tall, yet all four of its limbs are fully articulated. It includes interchangeable head and face parts to display it with Simon in the cockpit or with a determined, teeth-gritting expression. Drills can be attached to its forehead and hands, and by retracting its limbs, you can deploy a hidden drill from its body. This allows you to recreate scenes like the "Lagann Impact" projectile attack or its combination-ready stance!
The transformation sequence is engineered to be incredibly faithful to the anime. After converting Lagann into its docking mode, it plugs directly into the port on Gurren's head. Simultaneously, you can extend Gurren's limbs via built-in mechanisms, deploy the shoulder shields, and reveal drill ports across its body. The final step is placing the iconic helmet onto Lagann to complete the "Brotherly Combination! Gurren Lagann!" sequence. (You can even replicate their comical first failed attempt at combining!)
This set is also packed with a wide array of accessories, including the "Gurren Wing" flight pack with a folding mechanism, small and large drills for both hands, and the dual Sunglasses Boomerang. Furthermore, you can fill every drill port on its body with the included translucent green drill effect parts to recreate its ultimate "Full Drillize" form, bursting with Spiral Power!
