Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the upcoming release of "HEXAGEAR V-THOR," a special 5th-anniversary product for their highly customizable original model kit series, "HEXAGEAR." The new kit is slated for an August 2022 launch.
Named after the Norse god of thunder, the 206mm tall "V-THOR" was developed with the goal of achieving the highest articulation range in the HEXAGEAR series to date. Its exterior armor features a skeletal, hollowed-out design that deliberately exposes internal artificial muscle details. Equipped with double joints and interlocking armor mechanisms, it can execute natural high kicks, kneeling, and prone firing poses.
The cockpit features an open-type design, compatible with separately sold standard-sized Governor figures. While the pilot is almost entirely encased during operation, parts like the head can still be slightly exposed. (Note: If the back-mounted weaponry is too heavy, it may cause the cockpit to open.)
Its arsenal includes the impressive 283mm long "Charged Super Large Tactical Blade (with sheath)," a rifle that can be reconfigured into either a Gatling gun or a plasma cannon, and a large shield that doubles as a backpack thruster or a hoverboard. Additionally, a limited edition version ordered through the official KOTOBUKIYA SHOP will include a special clear and glitter-molded "Charged Super Large Tactical Blade Effect Part."
