BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division, known for its popular die-cast toy line "Soul of Chogokin," has announced the latest release, the "GX-101X Daitetsujin 18." This new figure is slated for an August 2022 release, following the previous Daitetsujin 17.
The brother machine to Daitetsujin 17, "Daitetsujin 18 (ONE EIGHT)," was originally created as a successor unit to counter 17. Like its predecessor, Daitetsujin 18 possesses an independent mind. However, due to the implantation of a "Satan Circuit," it was long controlled by BRAIN. After numerous battles with 17, the circuit was finally destroyed, allowing Daitetsujin 18 to become a reliable and powerful ally.
The "Soul of Chogokin GX-101X Daitetsujin 18" stands approximately 18 cm tall. Crafted with die-cast metal parts, the figure features a striking metallic silver-white finish, perfectly capturing its robust, retro design. Its elbows and hips incorporate pull-out joints to expand articulation, and the multi-barrel missile launcher hidden in its chest can also be deployed!
Accessories include multiple interchangeable hand parts and two styles of backpack, allowing for the recreation of its flying form with deployed wings. Additionally, an "Electromagnetic Interrupter" part, designed to fit over Daitetsujin 17's head, is included. This allows collectors to recreate both the early conflict and later joint battle scenes with the separately sold Daitetsujin 17!
