Kotobukiya, the Japanese toy company renowned for its "ARTFX J" line of anime, manga, and video game character figures, today (the 31st) announced its latest release from "Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai": the Maam 1/8 scale pre-painted complete figure! Both a Regular Edition and a DX Edition will be released simultaneously, with an estimated launch in September 2022.
Maam, like Dai and Popp, is one of the "Disciples of Avan." She initially joined the hero's party to fight the Demon Lord as a "Warrior Priest." However, unable to use offensive spells, she wielded the "Magic Bullet Gun" gifted by Master Avan in battle. As her enemies grew stronger, Maam recognized her own limitations and temporarily left the party to train. She later returned as a formidable "Martial Artist," capable of unleashing powerful Bushin-ryu techniques such as "Flash Burst Fist" and the ultimate art, "Moko Haryu Ken."
Standing approximately 23 cm tall, this figure captures Maam in her Martial Artist form after activating her Armored Fist "Amd." It perfectly recreates her dynamic pose as she unleashes "Moko Haryu Ken," with her arms extended, ponytail flying, and a powerful shouting expression. The base, damaged by the impact of her attack, further enhances the figure's dramatic visual effect! The sculpted folds of her outfit, the intricate details of the golden knuckle guard on her right fist, and the glossy, sharp appearance of her light pink armor are all excellently rendered. From the back, collectors will be treated to a stunning silhouette that truly conveys the power of her ultimate technique!
