Gravity is her weapon! Japanese manufacturer KOTOBUKIYA is expanding its ARTFX J figure lineup with a new release from the hit series "My Hero Academia", featuring one of its main heroines, Ochaco Uraraka, in a 1/8 scale figure! This new version is scheduled to launch in November 2022!
"My Hero Academia" (Boku no Hero Academia) began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014, with its sixth anime season slated to air in the fall of 2022. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without a superpower (called a "Quirk") in a world where they are commonplace, who dreams of becoming a hero like his idol, All Might. After a fateful encounter, he inherits All Might's Quirk and enrolls in a prestigious hero academy, meeting a host of unique characters along the way. The series' popularity stems from its cast of memorable characters and its distinct, American comic book-inspired art style.
This ARTFX J figure of Ochaco Uraraka is a completely new sculpt, designated as Ver.2 to distinguish it from the previous release. Also presented in 1/8 scale, she stands at approximately 27cm tall and features a slightly updated costume design, with the most noticeable change being her helmet. The dynamic pose captures her using her Zero Gravity Quirk to float effortlessly. Her face beams with a confident smile, a far cry from the more timid girl she was when she first enrolled at U.A.
