Bandai's Gashapon brand, known for its popular "ULTIMATE LUMINOUS" capsule toy series that emphasizes ultimate sculpting and ultimate light-up features, today announced the latest release from the 1974 film "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla." The "Mechagodzilla 1974" is slated for an August 2022 release.
Mechagodzilla (1974) is the original Mechagodzilla to appear in the "Godzilla" series. It was a remote-controlled weapon created by the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens. Its armor was crafted from an extremely strong Space Titanium alloy, disguised with a black outer skin to mimic Godzilla's appearance. Though it looked identical to the real Godzilla, it emitted metallic roars and fired a yellow heat ray. Its true identity was only revealed to humans after it battled the genuine Godzilla. Its capabilities surpassed Godzilla's; not only could it fly to evade Godzilla's heat ray attacks, but in addition to firing powerful beams, it could also instantly produce and launch an endless barrage of missiles from its body. This forced Godzilla and King Caesar into a fierce struggle.
Crafted from PVC soft vinyl, the "ULTIMATE LUMINOUS Mechagodzilla 1974" stands approximately 14.5 cm tall. Its precise sculpting faithfully recreates the wrinkles and rivets of the suit from the film, and a matte silver-white paint application gives it a metallic texture. By inserting the dedicated light unit into its head, its eyes will illuminate! As it's made of soft vinyl, Mechagodzilla's left shoulder, left hand, waist, and right leg are articulated, allowing for varied posing.
