Japanese toy company EVOLUTION TOY is set to release a highly anticipated action figure of the colossal mothership, the Varidorin (バリドリーン), from the classic Tokusatsu series "Himitsu Sentai Gorenger"! The collectible is scheduled for release in September 2022.
"Himitsu Sentai Gorenger" (秘密戦隊ゴレンジャー) is a Tokusatsu action television series produced by Toei, which first aired in 1975. Created by the renowned Shotaro Ishinomori, it is recognized as the inaugural entry in the "Super Sentai" (スーパー戦隊シリーズ) franchise. The series established many fundamental elements for subsequent Sentai Tokusatsu shows, such as the five-color ranger suits and the tradition of the Red Ranger typically serving as the team leader.
In the original series, the Gorengers' initial mobile mothership was the Variblune (バリブルーン). However, after its destruction in Episode 42, it was succeeded by the Varidorin (バリドリーン). Modeled after a bird, the Varidorin also features an autopilot function, allowing all five Gorengers to control it from the cockpit. Its primary armaments include the Vulcan Missile Cannon, Sky Lock, Sky Missile, and Remote Wing Claws.
This Varidorin collectible from EVOLUTION TOY faithfully recreates its iconic design. Measuring approximately 14.5 cm in length, its wings can be folded for storage. It also features a gimmick to replicate the storage of the Gorengers' smaller vehicles, such as the Tank and Hot Air Balloon. Additionally, a dedicated display stand is included.
