Super Robot Wars 30 DLC Vol. 3 Unveiled: New Scopedog Armament & Ultimate Dancouga Designs Hint at Future Merchandise?

Bandai Namco Entertainment officially announced the third downloadable content (DLC) expansion for "Super Robot Wars 30" on the evening of the 12th. Like the previous two installments, this latest DLC offers both free and paid content, introducing a host of new missions, armaments, playable units, and a higher difficulty setting. The paid DLC was scheduled for release on April 13th, with the free DLC following on April 20th.

While some players embrace this DLC strategy, others feel it's a way to "milk" the game. However, this third wave of content is undeniably extensive and impressive. The free portion alone adds two classic original units, the Grungust and Van Ein. The paid DLC further expands the roster with over 10 playable units, including those from "Majestic Prince: Genetic Awakening," "Super Robot Wars OG's Daizengar," "Shinkalion the Movie: Overdrive Alfa-X," and "Getter Robo Devolution: The Last 3 Minutes of the Universe," among others.

Perhaps the most surprising reveals are the brand-new designs commissioned specifically for this title. Legendary mechanical designer Kunio Okawara was tapped to create a new armament for the Scopedog, the iconic protagonist unit from "Armored Trooper Votoms." Simultaneously, Masami Obari designed a new enhanced form, "Ultimate Dancouga," for "Super Beast Machine God Dancouga." Both designs feature aesthetics that could easily be adapted into existing product lines, strongly hinting at the possibility of future toy releases from Bandai.
