Bandai Candy, the confectionery and toy division of Bandai Co., Ltd. Japan, today announced the upcoming release of "Imperaildramon" from the Digimon series, joining their popular SHODO articulated candy toy series. This new figure is slated for release in September 2022.
The ancient Dragon Digimon, "Imperaildramon," is an Ultimate-level Digimon that appears in "Digimon Adventure 02." It evolves from Paildramon, which is the DNA Digivolution of ExVeemon and Stingmon. Known as the Emperor Dragon that reigned over the ancient Digital World, its basic Dragon Mode possesses immense power but is also wild and difficult to control. Once it gains intelligence and successfully controls its power, Imperialdramon can transform into its true combat form, "Fighter Mode." In this mode, its signature attack, the "Mega Death" from its chest-mounted dark matter cannon, is amplified ten thousandfold into the "Giga Death."
"SHODO Imperialdramon" captures the character's impressive design in a palm-sized figure, consistent with previous entries in the series. It features multiple articulation points, allowing for dynamic battle poses. While the blue and black parts are molded in their respective plastic colors, the white, red, and gold sections are fully pre-painted. The jaw is connected via a ball joint, allowing for a wide opening in Dragon Mode to recreate powerful roaring poses.
This release marks the SHODO Digimon series' first foray into transformable figures. By swapping out the head, hands, certain joints, and connection parts, collectors can transform it into its bipedal "Fighter Mode"! In this mode, the articulation is even more flexible, allowing for the recreation of its most powerful special attack, the "Giga Death"!
