Klonoa, once a prominent mascot for NAMCO, is making a grand return with the HD remastered collection, "Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series." This highly anticipated title is set to launch on July 7, 2022, for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox, and Steam platforms, inviting everyone to re-experience Klonoa's magical world!
The original "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" (風のクロノア) first debuted on the PlayStation console in 1997. Klonoa's charming design, coupled with the game's unique 2D gameplay set against 3D backgrounds, made it a beloved title among many players for its simple, easy-to-pick-up mechanics and moderately challenging difficulty. A sequel, "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil," was later released on the PS2, along with other related titles on handheld consoles. However, after a remake of the first game launched on the Wii in 2008, no new entries in the series had been released.
2022 marks the 25th anniversary of Klonoa's debut. To celebrate, Bandai Namco's "Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series" includes both the original "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" (based on the 2008 Wii remake) and "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil." Both games have been re-rendered in HD with updated interfaces, allowing players to relive the original magic with enhanced visuals. Additionally, a special DLC Deluxe Bundle will be available, featuring a digital art book, all 143 in-game background music tracks, and two in-game cosmetic masks for Klonoa: the Joka Mask and the Tat Mask.
