TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectibles division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, has officially unveiled new additions to its S.H.Figuarts action figure line: Zatch Bell and Kiyo Takamine from the beloved series "Zatch Bell!". These figures are slated for release in October and November 2022, respectively.
Authored by Japanese manga artist Makoto Raiku, "Zatch Bell!" (Konjiki no Gash Bell!!) was serialized from 2001 to 2008, spanning 323 chapters plus special editions. The story follows Kiyo Takamine, a brilliant but aloof middle schooler, who encounters Zatch Bell, a mysterious demon child with amnesia carrying a cryptic red spell book. As enemies wielding similar books begin to appear, Kiyo and Zatch soon discover they are embroiled in a once-in-a-millennium battle royale: the Demon World King selection process, where only one of 100 demon children will be crowned king.
First up is the S.H.Figuarts Zatch Bell, standing approximately 8.5 cm tall. The figure perfectly captures Zatch's childlike physique, complete with his iconic blue jumpsuit (featuring a soft material skirt) and scarf. His oversized eyes and cheerful smile are incredibly endearing. With a full range of articulation, four additional interchangeable facial expressions, swappable hair parts, and dynamic running "hand-chop" hands, collectors can recreate both intense battle scenes and hilarious everyday moments. The figure also includes the adorable Vulcan 300 as an accessory!
Next is the S.H.Figuarts Kiyo Takamine, standing approximately 16 cm tall. This figure faithfully recreates Kiyo's slender build and signature look, complete with his white shirt, blue pants, and short tie. With four additional interchangeable facial expressions and swappable short hair parts, collectors can pose him in a variety of dynamic and expressive ways. The inclusion of both open and closed versions of the Red Spell Book allows for recreating hilarious desperate sprints or determined moments of fighting alongside Zatch!
