BANDAI SPIRITS' Tamashii Nations collectible division isn't just bringing us the Zatch & Kiyo S.H.Figuarts figures; their PROPLICA series, known for faithfully recreating in-universe props with cutting-edge technology, has officially announced the "Red Spell Book"! It's slated for release in September 2022.
"Zatch Bell!" (Konjiki no Gash Bell!!) is a shonen manga created by Japanese artist Makoto Raiku, serialized from 2001 to 2008, spanning 323 chapters plus special editions. The story follows Kiyomaro Takamine, a genius middle schooler, who encounters Zatch Bell, a young demon with amnesia. Zatch carries a mysterious "red book" that Kiyomaro can't understand. As time passes, enemies wielding similar books begin to appear, and the duo soon realizes they've been thrust into a once-in-a-millennium "Demon World King Battle," where only one of 100 demons will be chosen as the next ruler.
The "PROPLICA Red Spell Book" is crafted from ABS and paper, brought to life in an impressive 1/1 scale, measuring approximately 21.5 cm long. It flawlessly replicates the striking crimson exterior, and its pages are filled with intricate demon world script, fully immersing fans in the captivating world of "Zatch Bell!" This Red Spell Book also boasts light-up effects, voice recognition, and other interactive features. According to the official promotional video, simply uttering the "First Spell: Zaker (ザケル)" will activate the book's glowing pages – how cool is that?!
Beyond voice activation, the "PROPLICA Red Spell Book" also features button-activated light and sound effects. It comes packed with over 80 unique sound effects, including newly recorded lines from Ikue Otani (Zatch's voice actor) and Takahiro Sakurai (Kiyo's voice actor)! Whether you want to roleplay with full chuunibyo flair or display it alongside your S.H.Figuarts "Zatch Bell!" action figures, this is an absolutely fantastic piece!
