Following the successful launch of its first crustacean installment, "Crab," Bandai's Gashapon division is set to release "Crab 02 (Kani 02)," the latest addition to its highly popular ultra-realistic shell-less capsule toy series! Featuring four distinct types, each capsule will retail for 500 JPY, with a strong release slated for the second week of May 2022.
The "GASHAPON Crab 02 Capsule Toy" series introduces the world's largest arthropod, the Giant Spider Crab, recreated at an impressive 25cm in width. Also included are the Red-clawed Crab (Yellow) and Red-clawed Crab (Red). The Smooth-shelled Manjū Crab, a popular inclusion from the previous series, also makes a return with a new color variation.
Utilizing advanced 3D modeling, the figures meticulously reproduce the crabs' intricate biological structures. This includes the precise shape of their carapaces, the complex articulation of their legs, and the serrated edges of their claws. Characteristic patterns and paint applications are also faithfully rendered, bringing each creature to life! Thanks to articulated joints and internal mechanisms, each figure boasts an impressive 28 to 38 points of articulation across its entire body. This even extends to the eyes, which can retract into their sockets for protection. These ultra-realistic details allow collectors to pose the crabs in dynamic, lifelike stances, whether they're foraging, extending their claws, or curling up defensively!
